The Connecticut Real Estate Institute, Inc. is headquartered in Stratford, Connecticut, overlooking the
Stewart B. McKinney National Wildlife Refuge and Long Island Sound.
Founded in 1979, the school has specialized in career training for over 40 years. It was incorporated as the Danbury Business Institute and received approval from the Connecticut Department of Adult Education. In later years it changed its name to The Connecticut Real Estate Institute, Inc.
In 1992, two separate divisions evolved. One division received recognition from the Connecticut Department of Higher Education specializing in training for the Paralegal, Secretarial, and Junior Accounting Professions; while, the other division received recognition by the Department of Consumer Protection,
Real Estate Division for Real Estate and Appraisal, Pre-Licensing and Continuing Education training.
Today the school concentrates solely on the Real Estate, Banking and Appraisal professions. It is recognized by the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection, Real Estate Division to teach the minimum standards as set forth by The Connecticut Real Estate Commission.
